Generate contracts from your own Word template

Keep your contract in Word, mark the details that change as fields, and produce a finished contract for each client in a few seconds, as a Word file to edit or a PDF to send.

Why not copy last month's contract?

Copying the previous contract and editing it by hand is how a former client's name ends up in a new agreement, or a date stays from last year. With a template, every value comes from one form: nothing is left over from the last client, and required fields cannot be skipped.

How it works for contracts

  1. Mark the variable parts. In your contract, replace the client's name, address, start date and fee with placeholders such as {{client_name}}, {{client_address}}, {{start_date}} and {{monthly_fee}}.
  2. Add optional clauses. Text between {{#is_company}} and {{/is_company}} appears only when the client is a company, for example its registration number. Use {{^is_company}} for text that applies only to private persons.
  3. Save your clients once. Keep clients in a collection with their name, address and registration number. Pick a client in the form, and {{client.name}} and {{client.address}} fill in by themselves.
  4. Generate. Download the contract as Word, as PDF or both. Generate the contract and its annexes from the same data in one go, and they arrive together in one ZIP file.

Contracts that look the way you made them

DocGen fills in your own .docx file, so your clauses, numbering, tables, headers and logo stay where you put them. PDFs keep Word's line and page breaks when the template uses Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times New Roman or Courier New.

Example: a service agreement

The example template has fields for the client, a project date and the responsible engineer, picked from a saved list with an authorization number. Download it, open it in Word and replace the text with your own clauses.
